By spearheading initiatives that integrate agriculture and environmental sustainability, our organization on the youth empowerment platform can play a pivotal role in creating a better future for all.

  1. Climate Change MitigationAgriculture is responsible for significant greenhouse gas emissions. By promoting sustainable agricultural practices, such as organic farming, agroforestry, and efficient water management, we can reduce carbon footprint and contribute to mitigating climate change.

  2. Conservation of Biodiversity: Industrial agriculture often leads to the degradation of ecosystems, loss of biodiversity, and depletion of natural resources. By embracing sustainable agriculture, we can promote biodiversity conservation, protect vital habitats, and ensure the survival of endangered species.

  3. Soil Health and Fertility: Unsustainable farming practices degrade soil health leading to erosion, nutrient depletion, and decreased productivity. Encouraging techniques like crop rotation, composting, and cover cropping can enhance soil fertility, boost agricultural yield, and prevent soil degradation.

TYC aims to strengthen evidence-based climate resilience, creating sustainable solutions and widening benefits and impact to support climate action. In line with this, a recent conference of parties(COP25, COP26, and COP27)  created through an international collaboration between academics and citizens was held to strengthen evidence-based climate resilience and create sustainable solutions.

  1. TYC aims to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation through cooperation between fostering multidisciplinary youth-led climate action and research.

  2. TYC fosters accountability among local, regional, and national leadership structures by providing viable, sustainable, and ethical issues that need addressing for climate justice.

  3. TYC is working to build a local youth and community workforce network to engage in environmental preservation and climate justice.

  4. TYC aims to promote innovative, creative, and eco-friendly sustainable solutions through climate change, resilience mapping, and economic growth, resulting in green jobs for the youth.

  5. TYC aims to develop  the capacity of the youth in water and forest conservation to improve the quality and quantity of water and forest resources

  6. TYC is working on  Changes for Climate, designed to inspire and mobilize young Africans (aged 13-18) around the concept of the circular economy — a new way to design, make, and use things that can help us address significant challenges like climate change, waste, and pollution.

  7. Published The African Youth and Climate Change Policy Brief, developed in light of COP27.

  8. TYC aims to provide young people with training and tools to develop solutions to various climate change challenges. In 2020, The Youth Cafe launched the Youth Climate Innovation Labs and Academy in Africa, which provided young people with this training and tools.
