Let your thoughts shine!! The Youth Café, in partnership with Youth Democracy Cohort (YDC) powered by European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), is conducting a perception survey on the Summit for Democracy and African Governments Youth Commitments. By participating you could be 1 of 5 sponsored delegates to attend our exclusive Advocacy for Democratic governance launch workshop in Nairobi.

This survey aims to collect information regarding youth understanding of the Summit for Democracy, The Menu of Possible Commitments, and overall African youth empowerment in democracy. As young people are crucial stakeholders in democracy, it is vital to understand their perspectives and opinions on initiatives that can positively impact their involvement in the democratic process.

The Summit for Democracy is an opportunity for governments, organizations, and individuals to come together and discuss critical issues that impact democracy. Summit for Democracy process remains a welcome effort for the international democracy support community, as it provides democracy actors a much-needed opportunity to raise democracy on the political agenda and come together to discuss collective solutions.

Advocacy is the act of publicly supporting or promoting a particular cause, policy, or idea with the goal of influencing decision-makers, shaping public opinion, or bringing about social change. It involves actively speaking up on behalf of oneself or others who may not have the ability or opportunity to advocate for themselves.

The survey is part of a broader project “The Ignite African Youth Project!”  in Zambia, Kenya, Ghana and Central Africa Republic (CAR) Countries, aimed at increasing youth engagement in active and meaningful roles in democratic processes while strengthening and enhancing young people's political and civic capacities.
In participating in the survey respondents get a chance to contribute to the implementation of “The Ignite African Youth Project!” Additionally from influencing decision-making the participant will benefit from increased learning, collaboration, and networking through The Youth Cafés network.

Please note that your participation in this survey is voluntary and takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and your responses will be kept confidential, and personal information will not be shared with any third parties. Thank you in advance for your participation and contribution to this important study.
