"Master craftsmen" is a job title we use at TYC to encompass a range of skills all related to supporting, mentoring and training the youth in a variety of settings throughout the community.
We are currently looking for skilled master craftsmen!
Our program offers youth from all over Kenya the unique opportunity to have their skill and competencies enhanced, thus making them competitive in the labour market. The program aims
to impart to the youths essential skills that will help them not only develop their capabilities to stand out in any working environment, but also mentor them to start or expand their business.
Master craftsmen conduct on-the-job training at their premises to beneficiary youth. The tradesmen deliver training in a real working environment and facilitate projects that require students to apply what they've learned. Within this program skills trainers develop strong working relationships with TYC and community members to teach and model the youths in daily functioning, competency, and confidence within their lives.

Application requirements
Persons who satisfy the following requirements are eligible to apply.
Youths between the ages of 18 to 35.
Holds citizenship of an eligible country or region.
Proficiency in English or Kiswahili.
Must have legitimate business permits.
Must be tax compliant with relevant clearance.
Must have been operational for two years.
Are willing to take part in a mandatory one week training prior to the start of the
internship.
Job description
a) Develop a training program and training material
i. Develop a proposal for the training program/plan/curriculum, including the training objectives, training topics, and duration, for training, referred beneficiaries;
ii. Design tools and guidelines for the training of beneficiary youth.
iii. Design the outline structures of the training materials and discuss with The Youth Cafe
Training & Internship specialist for feedback and approval;
iv. Submit the draft version of training materials to The Youth Cafe for approval.
NB: This activity should be completed at least two weeks before the commencement of the training.
b) Training and Internship of Beneficiary youth in Job-Specific Skills
i. Conduct induction/orientation of beneficiary youth who are referred to them by The Youth Cafe.
ii. Carry out a 4 months 2weeks on-the-job specific skills training in English/Kiswahili in accordance with the developed training guide and update beneficiary youth logbooks.
iii. Provide adequate and appropriate space suitable for on-the-job specific training for the number of beneficiary youth brought on board.
iv. Provide tools and equipment to deliver training in line with the proposed training guideline. v. Provide reports to The Yoùth Cafe on the job-specific skills training in prescribed formats.
vi. Conduct an assessment of beneficiary youth on acquired skills during training and internship and report their progress to The Youth Cafe.
vii. Monitor progress on beneficiary youth in line with the developed training guidelines and report feedback to The Youth Cafe.
viii. Work with The Youth Cafe to facilitate the booking of beneficiary youth for Government Trade Testing in trades where there exists a Trade Test.

Registration is acceptable on an online basis by using the registration form below. Selection is conducted through document screening and verification.
After selection, the trainers are required to undergo a one-week intense training on best practices of delivery and dissemination.
