Agritech Kenya County Fair 2024

The "Agritech Kenya County Fair 2024" is set to take place in Kajiado County, Kenya, from the 16th to 17th of February 2024 at Fred’s Ranch, Kajiado County. There has been a notable increase in population growth in urban and peri-urban regions in Kenya, leading to heightened competition for limited food resources. With a rapidly growing global population and a significant youth demographic in Africa, the demand for food is set to rise substantially. With its youthful population, Kenya has a unique opportunity to embrace innovative agricultural technologies and learn, adapt, and upscale them. Considering that most of our food is cultivated in rural areas, it's crucial to emphasize urban agriculture to reduce our overreliance on rural food production and achieve a more balanced food supply.

Africa Fertilizer And Soil Health Summit | Stimulating Sustainable Pro-poor Productivity Growth In African Agriculture

Due to decades of continuous soil nutrient mining and the age of the soils, Africa’s soils, which are among the oldest, globally, have become the poorest in the world. It is estimated that the continent loses over US$4 billion worth of soil nutrients each year, severely risking Africa’s ability to feed itself. Yet, a broad base of African farmers neither have access to fertilizers nor can they afford inputs needed to add life to their soils to reverse the downward spiral of the degradation of the physical environment.
