DRIVING GREEN GROWTH & CLIMATE FINANCE SOLUTIONS FOR AFRICA AND THE WORLD.

Africa Climate Summit and Africa Climate Week are significant events dedicated to addressing climate change and promoting sustainable development across the continent. The Youth Cafe As a youth empowerment organization, recognizes the importance of actively involving young people in shaping the future of Africa's environment. These events provide a platform for young leaders, activists, and innovators to come together, share ideas, and collaborate on solutions to climate-related challenges.

By participating in Africa Climate Summit and Africa Climate Week, The Youth Cafe will empower and inspire young Africans to take action, advocate for climate justice, and contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable future for Africa. The exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices at these events empowers our youth and strengthens the collective efforts towards climate action in Africa. Together, we can drive significant change and create a better future for our continent and the planet.

The inaugural Africa Climate Summit, championed by HE President Ruto, aims to address the increasing exposure to climate change and its associated costs, both globally and particularly in Africa. With the expectation of escalating climate crises in terms of frequency and intensity, urgent action is required to mitigate these challenges. The Summit will serve as a platform to inform, frame, and influence commitments, pledges, and outcomes, ultimately leading to the development of the Nairobi Declaration.

The Africa Climate Week will consider four major systems-based tracks with a view to providing region-focused contributions to inform the global stocktake on:

  • Energy systems and industry

  • Cities, urban and rural settlements, infrastructure and transport

  • Land, ocean, food and water

  • Societies, health, livelihoods, and economies

Some of the notable speakers during the summit include H.E. William Ruto, H.E. Azali Assoumani, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Hon Soipan Tuya, H.E Amb. Josefa Sacko, Stephen Jackson, Mr Harsen Nyambe.
