Meet Mr. Willice Onyango; Executive Director here at The Youth Cafe; a multi-award-winning Pan-African youth organization. He is a seasoned leader for this generation who is leading young and redefining the story of Africa's young people by casting his lot with not only trusting the youth to lead; but also involving them from design, to implementation and follow-up of the youth-led initiatives here at the Youth Cafe.
In partnership with Young Women Leaders Connect(YWLC), The Youth Cafe organized a Podcast centred around the theme 'Exploring Online Gender-Based Violence Among Youth in Kenya.' The discussions provided an invaluable platform for raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and encouraging meaningful interactions surrounding the critical issue of online gender-based violence affecting the youth in Kenya.
On August 4, 2010, Kenyans went to a referendum jubilant to vote and adopt a new Constitution which was later promulgated on August 27th, 2010. This marked a new dawn for Kenyans that promised an establishment of rules, values, and principles that upon implementation would meet their greatest desire of equality and inclusive citizenship.
The constitution equally provided a broad framework and a launchpad for youth participation, engagement, and representation. Ten years later we get to reflect on a decade of achievements and challenges on the implementation of the 2010 constitution since its launch.
The Youth Cafe podcast had a chat with an eloquence of lawyers on the implementation process, rights, and other provisions for the youth within the constitution, the broad framework, and launchpad for youth participation and representation, and how the youth can remain vigilant during the implementation process to ensure that they are included/engaged in all aspects of society in the manner envisioned by the constitution.

The theme of International Youth Day 2020, "Youth Engagement for Global Action" seeks to highlight how the engagement of youths at the local, national and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and how their representation and engagement in formal institutional politics can significantly be enhanced.
