The UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will convene at the level of heads of state and government under the auspices of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), from 24-25 September 2019. Such meetings take place every four years, and the meeting in 2019 – also known as the SDG Summit – will be the first since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda.
The organization of the one-and-a-half-day meeting is described here. The political declaration to be adopted during the Summit is under negotiation by UN Member States in New York.
Also during the UNGA's high-level week in September 2019:
The Climate Action Summit and a high-level meeting on universal health coverage (UHC) will take place on Monday, 23 September;
The 74th general debate ((UNGA 74) will open on Tuesday, 24 September, in the morning;
The High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development (FfD) – which takes place every four years, like the SDG Summit, and is also convening for the first time – is on Thursday, 26 September; and
A high-level meeting for the mid-term review of the SAMOA Pathway for small island developing States (SIDS) convenes on Friday, 27 September.
